Our Regions
ASTRO Indo Pacific
ASTRO is building and managing a Guam-based center focused on manufacturing prototyping, part-testing, and higher education. GAMMA advances U.S. national security and economic diversification.
ASTRO South
ASTRO is teamed with Florida State University to develop the Institute for Strategic Partnerships, Innovation, Research, and Education (InSPIRE) as a major center for aerospace and defense manufacturing research and education in northwest Florida— designing the factory floor, managing industry and government collaborations, and helping prioritize applied research. InSPIRE promotes economic development across Northwest Florida, advancing technology innovation, high-value job creation and opportunity, and STEM education.
ASTRO Mid-Atlantic
ASTRO conceived the Hypersonic Production Accelerator Facility (HPAF) at the direction of DARPA; today it is working with its partners to implement this vision, integrating state-of-the-art metallic additive manufacturing (AM) with key aspects of the supply chain to fine-tune design, build, and test capabilities with government and industry partners. ASTRO is advising the Southwest Research Institute on its implementation of the HPAF concept, working with industry partners to integrate AM into key supply chains.
ASTRO Midwest
ASTRO supports the U.S. Army’s process development for novel additive manufacturing, including the world’s largest metal 3D printer located at Rock Island Arsenal. ASTRO leads an OTA contract-vehicle to support applied research, material/process qualification, and prototyping of large scale parts. We also run a unique characterization and metrology laboratory, tailored to help evaluate ultra-large scale production parts.
